Red Cabbage

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 a large red cabbage
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp dark brown sugar
  • 250g water
  • 2 apples, peeled and chopped

Method:

 

1. Cut up the half cabbage, removing the core of it, with is inedible

2. Fry the onion in the oil, in a heavy casserole dish and then add cabbage


3. Stir for a few minutes before adding the water, vinegar, sugar and apples

 

4. Bring to the boil

 

5. Reduce heat and cook for about 30mins
